Member of technical staff @ Listen Labs

tl;dr: We are seeing a strong market pull and have an aggressive 6-month product roadmap, so we are expanding our engineering team. Background

Large language models are becoming powerful reasoning engines, but they're missing a crucial element to be truly useful for businesses: up-to-date information about your company.

Listen has created a product to quickly build this context. You can ask our AI any important business question, and it will:

  1. Find the right people to talk to

  2. Ask them the right questions

  3. Deliver a report with video highlights

For example, you could ask:

  • "How do finance directors handle AI budgets?"

  • "What do Ozempic users think about our new beverage product?"

By collecting this information, we're giving large language models current context about your business. This turns them into something like a strategic thinking partner for your company.

The market research industry in the United States is fragmented, with about 5,000 consultancies and a total spend of $30 billion. We believe LLMs can automate most of this work. Our customers already include major brands like Google, Microsoft, Nestlé, Procter & Gamble, and Sony (only with founder-led sales). By helping these companies better understand their customers, we've already generated millions of dollars in ROI for them through improved products, enhanced advertising campaigns, and better decision-making.

  1. Hypergrowth: we’re growing like crazy, both in mid-market and also signing large enterprise contracts with firms like Google, Microsoft, Nestlé and P&G.

  2. Our win rate on commercial deals is 83%We have never lost a deal to a competitor. (We occasionally lose deals because a customer does nothing)

  3. Our founders are serial entrepreneurs (previous AI startup exit): The team has backgrounds from Jane Street, Tesla Autopilot, IOI, ICPC, Harvard, Carnegie-Mellon, UC Berkeley. Our CTO reported directly to Elon Musk at Tesla.

Technical Challenges

The most interesting information is not publicly accessible on the web but only lives in people's minds. We are building an agent that, given a question, finds the right people to talk to, asks the right questions, and comes back with a report and actionable recommendations. That's what consultants charge millions for. The ceiling is incredibly high, and we are pushing the technical boundaries to help companies from investment firms to tech companies make the best decisions.

Realtime Video Interviews

The next version of our AI interviewer will have emotional understanding of video and voice to read between the lines. The goal is to make our interviewer more nuanced and effective than the most senior user researchers. This involves computer vision, speech analysis, and real-time decision making.

Customer Preference Model & Synthetic Personas

We're bringing Jeff Bezos' vision of the customer being part of every decision to life. We're building the deepest understanding of customers, which will allow us to extrapolate to new questions via synthetic personas. This involves complex modeling of human behavior, preferences, and decision-making processes.
