We’re a lean AI startup building real customer-facing automations and agents. You’ll sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success shipping solutions that real teams use every day.
What you’ll do
Co-build with customers: Understand discovery calls, translate messy requirements into clear specs, prototype quickly, and iterate to adoption.
Own automations end-to-end: Design, build, and maintain low-code workflows using n8n and Clay (webhooks, schedulers, error handling).
Customize CRMs: Configure and extend HubSpot/Salesforce for clients (objects, properties/fields, automations, APIs).
Build AI agents: Help design and wire up agents using Baserow + n8n (data models, prompts, evaluation loops).
Be product-minded: Propose improvements, simplify flows, and turn one-off builds into repeatable templates.

About the Role
As a Forward-Deployed Engineer, you’ll own the end-to-end delivery of technically sound, low-code AI solutions for Aircall customers. You’ll design, implement, and operationalize workflows that connect the AI Agent with CRMs, help desks, and communication tools. You’ll also play a key role in driving team upskilling, building reusable frameworks, and leading cross-functional initiatives that improve how Aircall deploys AI at scale. This is a hands-on role where you’ll translate customer challenges into scalable technical solutions, working directly with Product and Engineering to refine Aircall’s platform and accelerate adoption.

11,000 - 115,000 a yearThis base range is not including a quarterly bonus, equity, and other benefits. The maximum OTE for this role is 190K, including a 75K bonus. The Director, Forward Deployed Engineering & AI GTM Lead owns the technical execution, go-to-market effectiveness, and organizational adoption of Aircall’s AI Communication Agent. We're currently expanding our research team, and looking for an experienced Research Lead specializing in Conversational AI & Speech. In this role, you will work on solving scientific challenges related to Conversational AI to build domain-specific, real-world solutions. Your contributions will be through both applying your expertise as an IC, and through your leadership of a team of researchers. You will have the opportunity to leverage the massive amounts of data generated by our products to ask fundamental research questions, while deploying AI features into real-world applications.What you'll doLead, mentor and grow a team of research scientists and engineers working on spoken conversational AI research initiatives. Hands-on Research: Be deeply involved in hands-on technical work in any and all aspects of research projects from early exploration to working prototypes to achieve successful real-world applicationsResearch Leadership: Identify promising applications of AI relevant to ASAPP’s core mission, formulate and advocate for research programs in those areas, and take ownership of driving impactful research initiativesCollaboration & Advocacy: Work with cross-functional teams to socialize your research findings, advocate for their application, and guide the productization of those findings to improve customer experience solutionsDocumentation & Publication: Document significant experimental results, contribute to publishing peer-reviewed papers, and participate in patenting innovationsMentorship: Mentor and guide junior researchers, helping them develop their skills in independent research and the communication of their findings.What we're looking forEducation: PhD in a relevant field (such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Linguistics, etc.), along with significant experience in research.Technical Expertise: Strong research experience in Speech systems and/or Speech LLMs, including practical knowledge of algorithm design, model development, and experimental evaluation.Mentorship & Leadership: Experience leading or managing research teams.
