About Encord
At Encord, we're building the AI infrastructure of the future. One of the biggest challenges AI companies face today is data quality. The success of any AI application relies heavily on the quality of its training data, yet for most teams, this crucial step is both the most costly and time-consuming. We’re here to change that.As former computer scientists, physicists, and quants, we’ve experienced firsthand how a lack of tools to prepare quality training data impedes progress in building AI. We believe AI is at a stage similar to the early days of computing or the internet—where the potential is clear, but the surrounding tools and processes are still catching up. That's why we started Encord.
We are a talented and ambitious team of 90+, working at the cutting edge of computer vision and deep learning. Backed by $30M in Series B funding from top investors like CRV and Y Combinator, we’re one of the fastest-growing companies in our space. We have big plans ahead and are looking to expand our Engineering team to help us in building a better product for our customers.
Who we are looking for
We're looking for an outstanding engineer to push our platform to the next level. You'll join us at a crucial stage of accelerated development for the company, product and team. As part of a small, highly collaborative group, you'll drive our product and team to new heights.
Encord is growing rapidly, with our product as the key driver of that growth. A year ago, we were a team of 25; now, we’re 60 and continuing to accelerate.
What to expect
- High performing team: You'll join the small team that has built a product that our customers love and consistently rate as the best in the market. Members of the team are veterans of both Big Tech and successful startups. While the team is more than a sum of its parts, every member on the team is impressive on their own.- Impact: Your work will have direct and tangible impact for customers and in turn noticeably affect the trajectory of the company.- End-to-end ownership: You will be entrusted with end-to-end ownership of your projects. From product, design and architectural decisions, all the way to deployment, monitoring and measuring impact on users. You will work across the stack, covering everything from deployment to styling. We expect each other to take initiative, be proactive in problem-solving, and continuously seek improvements.- Autonomy and collaboration: You will often work autonomously to take charge of your projects, make decisions, and drive your work forward. But as a lean and high trust team, we remain quick to collaborate and support each other with challenging problems together.- Scale and simplicity: You will tackle complex domains and immense scale with simple solutions. You'll leverage your expertise to solve challenging problems in simple ways.
About You
- Are experienced: You have seen a lot and built a lot compared to your peers. You have personally developed and maintained multiple systems from scratch and you know what trade offs are involved in building reliable, performant software at speed. - Seek high impact: You want your work to have a tangible outcome for people. You're not satisfied when building products that do not see the light of day or move a number by a tenth of a percent.- Are a builder: You enjoy all aspects of building not only software but a complete product and are comfortable moving across the stack when necessary. You enjoy problem solving and thinking from first principles. You’re ready to pick up new skills and build quickly.- Are comfortable with uncertainty: You're happy to tackle problems without a predefined clear definition or obvious solution, and are excited to have autonomy to make decisions as you go.- Are a team player: You understand that being a member of a high-performing team requires two things. You contribute your best work. You also help others contribute their best. You enjoy lending a helping hand when needed and levelling up those around you.

Perplexity is an AI-powered answer engine founded in December 2022 and growing rapidly as one of the world’s leading AI platforms. Perplexity has raised over $1B in venture investment from some of the world’s most visionary and successful leaders, including Elad Gill, Daniel Gross, Jeff Bezos, Accel, IVP, NEA, Nvidia, Samsung, and many more. Our objective is to build accurate, trustworthy AI that powers decision-making for people and assistive AI wherever decisions are being made. Throughout human history, change and innovation have always been driven by curious people. Today, curious people use Perplexity to answer more than 780 million queries every month–a number that’s growing rapidly for one simple reason: everyone can be curious. Perplexity is seeking a singularly creative and energetic engineer to spearhead our Acceleration team as its founding tech lead. We are revolutionizing the way people navigate the internet and the wider world. To continue building best-in-class products, we are reimagining how our company and our teams operate.
Just as Perplexity is heralding an agentic future for the internet, you will lead our company in making the best use of AI tools and agents to multiply the leverage of our lean, mission-focused teams. Today, Perplexity uses AI tools across everything we do, from frontend and backend engineering to applied AI research and business operations. Tomorrow’s AI technology will be even more capable, and the Acceleration team will lead both software and process engineering to harness AI so that the company can deliver at maximum velocity. The ideal candidate will possess sound technical judgment forged in the trenches of internet-scale companies, paired with voracious use of today’s most advanced AI tools/models and a capacious imagination to rethink how work gets done in the leading companies of tomorrow. They will provide hands-on technical leadership in a hybrid role that marries facets of AI product development, infrastructure/platform engineering, developer experience, and more. Responsibilities Identify, prioritize, and execute on the highest-potential opportunities to accelerate Perplexity’s delivery cadence with frontier AI capabilities. Develop empathy for the nuances of our technical and business teams’ work across disciplines and verticals, toward collaborating with them to harness AI in new ways. Make our codebases, systems, and knowledge stores legible to AI. Help the company triangulate toward the optimal point on the quality-velocity Pareto frontier, while shifting that frontier outward with AI tools and agents. Keep abreast of new AI tools/models and make maximally effective use of them in your own work, setting an example across the company and inspiring others to do the same. Help the company make high-conviction bets on specific technologies in situations where indecision is a comfortable and tempting default. Work with engineering leadership, recruiting, and others to ensure we instill an AI-forward culture and select for those who will thrive in such an environment. Note: this is an extremely technical and hands-on role. Strong vision and thought leadership is necessary but not sufficient for success. You will be expected to build both prototypes and production systems, as well as to reengineer our codebases, infrastructure, processes, and anything else that must evolve to realize this vision. Qualifications 6+ years of industry experience, ideally with a substantial portion focused on infrastructure/platform engineering or developer acceleration at companies with millions of users and hundreds or thousands of engineers. Daily use of AI models/tools, along with strong intuition on their jagged frontiers. Proficiency with Python and working fluency with Typescript. Strong understanding of (and empathy for) the work of technical staff across disciplines, along with an enthusiasm to learn about the work of business and operations teams. Broad working knowledge of the typical stacks used by AI product & applied research companies. (For example: you don’t need to have experience hand-rolling CUDA kernels, but you should know what CUDA is and when/where/why it’s used.) An obsession with improving the legibility of (and reducing brittleness in) both software and human-orchestrated processes. Experience navigating tricky exploration-exploitation tradeoffs, balancing the need to ship today with the need to build capacity for tomorrow. The cash compensation range for this role is $250,000 - $325,000. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Equity: In addition to the base salary, equity may be part of the total compensation package.
Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents. Includes a 401(k) plan.

About Limitless 👋At Limitless, our vision is to free the human mind from its biological limitations. We are starting with memory. 90% of memories are forgotten after just a week. Not only that, but our memory gets worse as we get older. If there is a hearing aid for hearing and glasses for vision then why isn’t there the equivalent for memory? That question is why we started the company. We build software and hardware to capture what you see, say, and hear and make it useful. The products we have today are just the first step toward our audacious vision. We have raised over $33m from top-tier investors including Sam Altman, First Round Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and NEA to help make that vision a reality. Why Limitless 👀The work you’ll do will have tremendous impact on not just our company, but on society as a whole. We believe the best version of the future is one in which we augment - not replace - human intelligence with artificial intelligence. This is the key to unlocking humanity’s full potential, and you will play a critical role in helping us get there. Join us.What kind of product leader do we need? 🤔We believe the best products in the world are born from deeply empathizing with the customer problems we are trying to solve and understanding the best way that technology can be used to solve them.As our Head of Product, you’ll report directly to Dan, our CEO, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with him to shape the product strategy and execution across the company. You’ll be a builder first, not an armchair general: comfortable rolling up your sleeves to prototype, validate, and ship. If you’ve founded something before or scaled product from zero to one (and beyond), you’ll thrive here. We’re looking for a doer who obsesses over details, talks to users every week, and knows that vision is only as good as its execution. What will be your outcome ✅Define and drive the product roadmap across all platforms grounded in user needs, technical constraints, and our long-term vision.Deliver magical, differentiated experiences that users can’t live without.Lead discovery: test hypotheses, validate solutions with users, and turn insights into real product.Collaborate tightly with design and engineering to ship weekly and learn constantly.Build and mentor a product team over time: but start by doing, not delegating. What will help you be successful 👏5+ years of product experience, with prior founder or 0-to-1 background.Deep product intuition paired with a bias for validation and iteration.Have previously built products used by 1k+ users. You can estimate the impact of new features and bug fixes as well as the engineering effort necessary to implement them in order to prioritize work in each sprint to maximize ROI of engineering team effort.Strong storytelling skills: you can rally a team, align stakeholders, and inspire users.Experience with Linear and Figma.Experience building with LLMs or other AI tools.Experience coding. What cultural values you need to embody 💥✅ Decisive: Bias for action and learning.🧠 Resourceful: Prioritize well in order to maximize impact with the least effort.📈 Craft: Good judgement & consideration when deciding something is done enough.✋ Candor: Give candid feedback, receive it well, and speak up if you disagree.🗣️ Communication: Be transparent, create clarity out of ambiguity, and do it with zest.🙏 Collaboration: Help each other out, have empathy, and listen well.Benefits 💯Health insurance: best-in-class healthcare for employees and dependents. Includes vision and dental.Top-of-market compensation: we strive to offer top-of-market salary and equity.Flexible vacation: we want you to take the time you need to rest and relax.Employee-friendly equity terms: we offer an extended exercise window and early exercise for any options offered.Sell equity along the way: Unlike most startups, we don’t believe in holding you captive with golden handcuffs. When there are opportunities for you to sell a portion of your vested stock, we offer them.Remote first: we have team members all over the U.S. and everyone is treated equally regardless of location.401(k) plan: for US employees we offer a 401(k) plan with company matching.Office reimbursement: prefer working from an office? We provide a WeWork membership or reimbursement.Parental leave: we offer all parents 12 weeks of paid time off to spend time with their new family.Quarterly retreats: we have offsites quarterly to bring everyone together. Past retreats include Seattle, Breckenridge, Calistoga & Mexico.Final week of the year off: Enjoy the final week of the year off while we all take time to recharge.Choose your gear: we equip everyone with a new top-of-the-line laptop with all the upgrades. If you're interested in this job, we strongly encourage you to apply: we'd love to see you on our team working toward our audacious vision of freeing the mind from its biological limitations.
