Job Description

About Us

At FurtherAI, we’re building the next generation of AI agents for the insurance industry - a trillion-dollar market ready for transformation.

We’ve raised a $5M seed round from top investors (YC, Nexus, South Park Commons, Converge) and have grown 10x in revenue this year alone. Our customers include some of the largest names in insurance (we recently closed a top 5 insurance company in the world), and our team combines deep AI expertise with proven company-building experience.

Now, we’re looking for an exceptional Software Engineer to join our early team and help shape both our product and culture.

About the role

As the Insurance Domain Expert at FurtherAI, you’ll serve as a critical bridge between our customers, product team, and go-to-market efforts. You’ll bring deep expertise in commercial insurance to inform how our AI agents are built, refined, and deployed across real-world workflows. You’ll collaborate directly with founders, engineers, and sales - shaping the future of AI in the insurance industry.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of an early-stage, high-growth company and apply your domain knowledge to cutting-edge AI technology. Your insights will directly influence customer conversations, product development, and model iteration cycles.

Why Join FurtherAI?

  • Compensation: Competitive base salary, commission structure, equity, and benefits package.

  • Growth Opportunity: Join a VC-backed startup early and grow alongside the team as we scale.

  • Impactful Mission: Play a foundational role in transforming how commercial insurance companies operate through AI automation.

  • Collaborative Culture: Work closely with passionate, driven teammates who are committed to delivering real value for clients and making a difference.

Qualification

  • 5–10+ years of experience in commercial P&C insurance, preferably in underwriting, claims, operations, or consulting roles.

  • Deep understanding of insurance workflows, systems, regulatory considerations, and customer pain points.

  • Ability to translate real-world insurance processes into structured insights to inform product and AI model development.

  • Comfortable collaborating with technical teams to define, evaluate, and improve product capabilities.

  • Clear, concise communicator with strong analytical instincts and a customer-centric mindset.

  • Willingness to contribute hands-on to grading outputs or validating model performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the internal expert on commercial insurance workflows and user needs.

  • Sales Enablement: Support sales calls with credibility and insight to build trust with prospects and accelerate deals.

  • Product Development: Partner with engineering and product to shape features, evaluate model outputs, and iterate based on real-world use cases.

  • Workflow Design: Help design and validate insurance workflows to ensure our AI Teammates deliver measurable value.

  • Feedback Loops: Analyze model behavior and suggest improvements based on insurance domain logic.

  • Benchmarking: Create evaluation sets and frameworks that reflect real insurance tasks, helping ensure product quality and reliability.
