Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our humanoid is designed for commercial tasks and the home. We are based in San Jose, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering intern for Fall 2025 and onwards to help scale and optimize the production of our humanoid robot. This internship is intended for students graduating in Summer 2026 or within the following year.
Responsibilities:
- Support setup and execution of internal build lines for module-level and full robot assemblies
- Assist in documenting and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and quality
- Help monitor production metrics and identify areas for process improvement
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure manufacturability and support design for assembly
- Support vendor qualification efforts and incoming quality inspections
- Help design and build fixtures or tools for production and assembly
- Participate in validation testing and in-process quality checks
Requirements:
- Pursuing a mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, or robotics engineering degree; must have completed at least two years by internship start
- Experience using 3D CAD (any software)
- Hands-on experience building or assembling hardware projects
- Detail-oriented with the ability to document work clearly and consistently
- Passion for robotics and hardware engineering
Bonus Qualifications:
- CATIA V6 experience
- Experience with fixture design or assembly line tools
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, quality control, or process engineering principles
- Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, or similar
The US hourly range for this internship position is between $35 - $45/hr.
