Job Description

About the Role


We are looking for a Product Analytics Lead to be our first dedicated data partner, turning signals from PostHog and internal systems into actionable insights that drive product and growth decisions. From tracking the impact of new features to identifying hidden user patterns, your work will directly shape how we build and scale Shortcut and future products.

This is an extremely analytical and detail-oriented role and would be best for someone who is incessant with data and fluent in data storytelling.

What you'll do

  • Own daily analysis of user activity, funnels, and retention across Shortcut and new product surfaces

  • Design and maintain dashboards in PostHog to monitor growth, engagement, and conversion

  • Partner with product, growth, and engineering to define and instrument key metrics and event tracking

  • Run cohort analyses, AB test evaluations, and behavioral segmentation to uncover insights

  • Identify and communicate opportunities to improve onboarding, activation, and retention

  • Translate complex data into clear stories that guide decisions across the company

  • Build lightweight tools, reports, or scripts that automate recurring analysis

  • Help define our data stack and best practices for product analytics across the org

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in product analytics, data science, or growth analysis for a tech consumer product - we invite more senior candidates to apply as well

  • Experience analyzing user interaction data with Posthog, Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or similar tools

  • Experience with user funnel analysis, retention metrics, and experimentation

  • Strong data manipulation skills; familiarity with Python or similar is a plus

  • Comfortable building and maintaining self-serve dashboards for product and leadership teams

  • Excellent communication skills — able to translate findings into clear recommendations

  • Curiosity-driven mindset; you find patterns in data and turn them into hypotheses
