Role Overview

We’re looking for a leader who will build our Frontend Platform team from the ground up, playing both the hands-on tech architect and people-leader. You’ll define the vision for shared front-end infrastructure (components, tooling, performance, developer experience) and lead a centralized team of front-end engineers that’s building out those foundational component whilst supporting product teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and own the roadmap for the front-end platform: component library, design system, shared utilities, tooling, and build/deploy pipelines.

  • Build, hire, and lead a small but growing team of front-end engineers: mentor, set culture, performance-manage and enable team growth.

  • Serve as a hands-on technical lead: architect, design, implement key platform features, and review/shape team outputs.

  • Partner with product engineering, design/UX, backend and infrastructure teams to ensure the platform delivers high-quality, consistent, performant front-end experiences.

  • Establish metrics, best practices, and frameworks for front-end development across the org: developer productivity, component reuse, performance, maintainability, and reliability.

What You Have

  • Strong front-end engineering experience, including building or leading shared front-end systems, libraries or platform infrastructure.

  • Experience as a technical lead or manager with hands-on delivery + team leadership.

  • Strong technical skills with modern front-end stacks (e.g., React + TypeScript, component architecture, state management, performance optimisations).

  • Demonstrated experience building or evolving a design system / component library used across multiple teams.

  • Excellent collaboration, communication and influencing skills — you can build consensus, partner across functions, and drive engineering strategy.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with front-end performance instrumentation, feature-flagging at scale, micro-front-ends or multi-tenant front-end architectures.

  • Managed or built a shared engineering pool or center of excellence model for front-end engineers.

  • Experience in a fast-growing SaaS environment where you scaled teams, infrastructure or processes.

  • Familiarity with enterprise/regulated environments, security or compliance in front-end contexts.

  • Open-source contributions or public talks/blogs in the front-end architecture or platform space.

Compensation Range

$274,000 - $360,000 USD
