Job Description

About Abridge

Abridge was founded in 2018 with the mission of powering deeper understanding in healthcare. Our AI-powered platform was purpose-built for medical conversations, improving clinical documentation efficiencies while enabling clinicians to focus on what matters most—their patients.

Our enterprise-grade technology transforms patient-clinician conversations into structured clinical notes in real-time, with deep EMR integrations. Powered by Linked Evidence and our purpose-built, auditable AI, we are the only company that maps AI-generated summaries to ground truth, helping providers quickly trust and verify the output. As pioneers in generative AI for healthcare, we are setting the industry standards for the responsible deployment of AI across health systems.

We are a growing team of practicing MDs, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working together to empower people and make care make more sense. We have offices located in the Mission District in San Francisco, the SoHo neighborhood of New York, and East Liberty in Pittsburgh.

The Role

Abridge is hiring early career Software Engineers to join our Product Engineering team. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers to build and ship meaningful product features using a modern web stack (Typescript, React, Next.js). You’ll gain hands-on experience in designing, coding, and delivering software that helps make clinicians' lives easier and healthcare more efficient.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build end-to-end features, enhancing our existing systems to add new functionality.

  • Fix user-facing bugs and issues and make quality-of-life improvements to the codebase.

  • Develop a strong user-centric mindset, building empathy for Abridge’s clinicians and the challenges they face.

  • Collaborate across our cross-functional product teams, working closely with design, product, machine learning, and infrastructure to ship features to our customers.

  • Receive mentorship from our experienced software engineering team, while collaborating one-on-one with teammates within your pod.

What You’ll Bring

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field

  • Expected graduation date in Spring 2026

  • Experience with Typescript, React, and Node.js, or Next.js.

  • At least one prior software engineering internship or co-op experience developing web applications, ideally touching both the frontend and backend of the stack.

  • Passion for and understanding of Abridge’s mission.

  • A curious, adaptable, and proactive mindset, with a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • A willingness to pitch in wherever needed—we move fast, and we need team players who are eager to contribute.

***Must be willing to work from our San Francisco or New York City office at least 3x per week
