About the Team
The GTM (Go-To-Market) Innovation team builds products that redefine how people and AI collaborate across OpenAI’s GTM organization. We operate like a startup inside the company: shipping new AI capabilities weeks or months before they generalize into product, designing entirely new interaction patterns for our internal teams and customers, and building the next generation of platform and ChatGPT experiences.
We incubate high-leverage applications and systems that make our GTM teams more effective. Our work spans intelligent assistants, agentic workflows that take action, real-time context systems, knowledge and measurement frameworks, and customer-facing experiences that demonstrate what’s possible atop our technology.
About the Role
We’re hiring a technical GTM Innovation Architect to drive our team’s strategy and operational excellence. You’ll partner deeply with our internal go-to-market stakeholders and strategic platform customers to accelerate how we build, deploy, and scale AI-powered applications. You’ll work directly with internal stakeholders, external customers, and core product teams to explore what’s possible and ensure that the products we incubate translate directly to realized business value. Your work will influence internal tooling, customer-facing products, and the underlying platform.
This role is ideal for builders who don’t wait for a spec, who love zero-to-one ambiguity, and who want to ship systems that actually get used daily by people who depend on them.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
In this role, you will:
Partner deeply with GTM and cross-functional teams to uncover high-impact problems and architect solutions that meaningfully improve productivity, revenue outcomes, or customer experience.
Drive interoperability and platform leverage by working closely with internal product and research teams to inform capabilities, close gaps, and influence the evolution of our developer and enterprise surfaces.
Synthesize insights from real usage and feed them back into model, product, and infrastructure teams to shape the future of AI-powered GTM solutions.
Contribute to internal and external technical resources such as documentation, notebooks, and design patterns to scale knowledge and capabilities across teams.
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
Have 6+ years of experience in software engineering, technical consulting, or solutions architecture, ideally with full-stack ownership in startup-like environments
Have hands-on experience prototyping and deploying LLM-powered systems (e.g. OpenAI API, LangChain, vector databases)
Have a strong product mindset and enjoy shaping technical solutions with business impact in mind
Excel in working closely with users—internal or external—and thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Have a bias toward action and are comfortable owning problems end-to-end, from discovery through deployment
Are a strong communicator who can influence stakeholders and distill technical concepts to diverse audiences
