About the role:
As a Senior Product Manager in the Energy Transition & Environment team, you will be focused on serving the needs of our energy and infrastructure customers across multiple sub-sectors and applying Al to real-world problems that have a tangible impact on tackling climate change.
Leveraging your experience of AI software product delivery methodologies, you’ll play a leading role in influencing the product development approach and mindset within the business unit. You can expect high levels of delivery responsibility, customer exposure, and business development involvement from day one, as well as the opportunity to contribute directly to our growth plans.
What you’ll be doing:
Overseeing delivery across a portfolio of software development projects. You'll know when to stay close or step back, pre-empt and manage risks and support Faculty teams to deliver our work to the highest level of quality.
Providing product delivery leadership, acting as the main driver optimising the business unit’s approach to AI software product development approach and mindset.
Ensuring the quality of client deliverables, lead communications and ongoing scope management, balancing scope to maximise client value while ensuring sustainability of delivery for teams and margins.
Managing and supporting account growth, by staying close to the priorities of customers; identifying opportunities and supporting business development activities with the Business Development Director.
Building trusted relationships. You'll be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, building trust through delivery excellence and an increasing mastery of how Al can be put to work to solve our customers' hardest problems.
Helping build the business unit, by taking a proactive role in developing good processes and practices that develop the team and help us deliver on our objectives.
Supporting the development of individuals in Faculty's delivery team, providing coaching on areas for improvement and opportunities to develop as to maximise their potential.
Who we’re looking for
A successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of AI and/or software product management, with strong preference to candidates that hold domain experience and knowledge in the energy sector.
Domain experience within the energy value chain could include regulated utilities, renewables, batteries, energy supply, energy policy or system operation - noting that this is a non-exhaustive set of examples. Corporate ESG, carbon accounting and sustainability experience is less relevant to this opportunity.
To succeed in this role, you'll need demonstrable experience in some of the following:
Highly credible in dealing with senior stakeholders, with exceptional verbal communication skills, and the ability to boil down complicated concepts to their essence.
A great communicator with proven ability to engage with engineers, designers, data scientists, commercial leads and clients in a constructive and collaborative way
Experience in leading project teams to successful outcomes, not just by directing, but also coaching team members to make the right decisions.
A track record in product management with demonstrable experience: documenting product requirements, collaborating with engineers and designers, and releasing new products / features
Experience launching, scaling or managing complex software products, preferably in AI or decision intelligence
A demonstrable understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery
Able to talk persuasively about how Al and data can be used to solve problems, and be able to guide clients creatively on how these can be applied to a particular customer's needs. Experience in proposition development and elements of sales is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform product decisions, combined with being a creative, empathetic team player who can inspire and motivate others, and a can-do, proactive person who can operate in ambiguity.
