As Technology Associate (Corporate Development) at Harmattan AI, you will focus on identifying and evaluating emerging technologies, companies, and capabilities that can accelerate Harmattan AI’s product roadmap and technical edge. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will work closely with leadership and technical teams on technology scouting, product evaluation, and strategic fit, to assess targets, perform due diligence, and contribute to integration planning & execution.
Your role is to bring deep technological insight to our growth strategy—bridging market intelligence with engineering rigor.
Responsibilities
Deal Sourcing & Screening
Build structured overviews of emerging technologies relevant to autonomous defense systems (AI/ML, robotics, embedded systems, etc.)
Identify and evaluate innovative startups, research labs, and industry players aligned with Harmattan AI’s strategic roadmap
Stay current with trends in defense, aerospace, autonomy, and dual-use technologies
Develop market maps and identify priority segments and targets for Harmattan AI
Proactively track market activity to surface relevant acquisition and investment opportunities
Build relationships with founders, technical leaders, research institutions, advisors, investors
Technical Due Diligence
Work with engineering leads to assess the maturity, scalability, and uniqueness of third-party technologies or products
Analyze R&D pipelines, team capabilities, and potential integration pathways
Develop clear, data-driven business cases and investment memos to support internal decision-making
Lead and coordinate cross-functional due diligence efforts with internal teams and external advisors
Execution & Integration
Support deal structuring and negotiation processes
Contribute to post-acquisition integration planning and execution tracking
Candidate Requirements
Education & Background: Master’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline. Additional training in finance, business, or strategy is a strong plus. 2-4 years of work experience in engineering-related fields, finance, strategy or corporate development.
Technical & Analytical Skills: Strong engineering foundation and ability to assess technological differentiators, product architectures, and R&D maturity. Experience in financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis is a strong plus.
Communication & Commitment: Clear and structured communicator, fluent in English, French is a plus. Able to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders. Autonomous, intellectually curious, and comfortable managing multiple fast-paced workstreams.
