About UsZeromark builds AI-driven counter-drone systems that actually work in combat. No PowerPoints. No hype. Just field-proven technology that saves lives. We've doubled year-over-year for two straight years, winning contracts that prove what we've always known: real innovation happens in the dirt, not in conference rooms. Our systems transform standard weapons into AI-powered platforms that detect, track, and neutralize drone threats—because a $200 drone shouldn't require a million-dollar countermeasure. Here's what makes us different: ZeroMark operators don't build from behind screens. You'll validate tech from Blackhawk helicopters, train alongside Tier-1 units (who happen to be our coworkers), and test at legendary ranges from White Sands to the cliffs of Hawaii. When we say field-tested, we mean you'll shoot it, fly with it, and push it to failure. We don't tweet about changing the world—we're too busy actually doing it. Dark humor required, thick skin recommended. If you want to make an actual impact—and have some unforgettable Tuesday afternoons along the way—let's talk. We're all about delivering practical, field-tested tech, not just theories.Position SummaryWe're seeking a strategic Chief of Staff to serve as the CEO's right-hand partner in this high-stakes defense tech environment. This role is about being the force multiplier that streamlines operations, cuts through DoD bureaucracy, and drives key initiatives while we scale from seed to Series A. You'll own the cross-functional glue that keeps our team aligned, build scalable processes, and enable the CEO to focus on visionary leadership. If you have the drive to excel in ambiguity, anticipate challenges, and deliver results in a fast-paced setting, this position will place you at the center of impactful defense innovation.ResponsibilitiesStrategic Support & Special Projects:Act as the CEO's strategic extension: Research emerging technologies and threats, analyze data from our early DoD contracts, and prepare materials for investor updates, board meetings, or pursuits of new programs (e.g., DIU or AFWERX).Lead high-impact projects, such as scenario planning for contract growth or exploring partnerships with defense primes, ensuring alignment with our product-market fit and expansion goals.Synthesize insights from across teams to support decision-making, while respecting boundaries in engineering and talent functions.Operational Excellence & Process Building:Audit operational gaps and develop robust processes for areas like contract compliance (e.g., CMMC, ITAR), budgeting, and vendor management—scaling efficiently without unnecessary complexity.Implement tools and workflows, such as OKR systems or milestone tracking, to maintain momentum on our high-stakes DoD deliverables.Proactively identify risks, create mitigation strategies, and bridge functional gaps to eliminate bottlenecks as we grow.DoD Navigation & Stakeholder Management:Serve as a key liaison for DoD interactions: Coordinate demos, progress reports, and stakeholder relationships, transforming challenges into opportunities.Facilitate feedback from field pilots to refine our approach, derisking contracts and accelerating product-market fit without overlapping technical development.Engage externally at industry events or audits to strengthen networks and support growth.Cross-Functional Alignment & Internal Efficiency:Facilitate team syncs and communications to align engineers, GTM, and other functions on priorities, resolving issues swiftly without direct management.Track company-wide metrics (e.g., burn rate against milestones) and escalate critical insights, acting as the coordinator for seamless execution.Manage the CEO's priorities: Triage communications, prepare for key meetings like DoD calls, and handle overflow to maintain focus in our dynamic environment.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field. Master's or MBA preferred, but practical experience outweighs formal credentials.Experience: 4-7+ years in dynamic roles such as operations, strategy consulting, military leadership, or CoS/operations in startups—ideally in defense tech, regulated industries, or government-facing environments. Demonstrated success in building processes from the ground up in fast-growth, ambiguous settings, with exposure to DoD or similar regulatory navigation. Track record of executing strategic projects, managing stakeholders, and scaling small teams effectively.Skills: Strong problem-solving and decision-making in high-pressure scenarios, with the ability to prioritize and execute decisively. Excellent communication skills: Distill complex DoD requirements for teams, synthesize data into clear insights, and build lasting relationships. High agency and adaptability—thrive in uncertainty, anticipate needs, and drive outcomes independently. Proficiency with tools like Asana, Notion, or compliance frameworks; military background or security clearance is a significant advantage. Resilient mindset with a focus on impact—you'll excel if you can adapt quickly and maintain momentum through challenges. What We OfferCompetitive salary and equity package.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.Generous paid time off and holidays.Opportunities for professional development and growth.A collaborative and innovative work environment.

In the public sector, our mission extends beyond technology—we drive AI transformation through trust-building, change enablement, and capacity development. We’re building a new discipline focused on AI adoption, upskilling, and change management that empowers government partners to confidently deploy and scale AI solutions. The Enablement Program Lead is a core role in this vision, turning strategy into execution across national-level initiatives. As an Enablement Program Lead, you will be the operational anchor for upskilling and enablement across AI use cases. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with fluency in Arabic considered a strong plus. Comfortable navigating ambiguity, complexity, and fast-paced execution. PLEASE NOTE: Our policy requires a 90-day waiting period before reconsidering candidates for the same role. This allows us to ensure a fair and thorough evaluation of all applicants. About Us: At Scale, we believe that the transition from traditional software to AI is one of the most important shifts of our time. Our mission is to make that happen faster across every industry, and our team is transforming how organizations build and deploy AI. About Us
At Encord, we're building the AI infrastructure of the future. The biggest challenge AI companies face today is not half as glamorous as the outside world may think: it's all about data quality. In fact, the success of any AI application today relies on the quality of a model's training data — and for 95% of teams, this essential step is both the most costly, and the most time-consuming, in getting their product to market.
As ex-computer scientists, physicists, and quants, we felt first-hand how the lack of tools to prepare quality training data was impeding the progress of building AI. AI today is what the early days of computing or the internet were like, where the potential of the technology is clear, but the tools and processes surrounding it are still primitive, preventing the next generation of applications. This is why we started Encord.
We are a talented and ambitious team of 75+, working at the cutting edge of computer vision and deep learning, backed by top investors, including CRV and Y Combinator, leading industry executives like Luc Vincent, former VP of AI at Meta, and other top Bay Area leaders in AI. Drive‑thru is the single largest transaction channel for most quick‑service restaurants (QSRs). We’ve proven that our AI‑powered drive‑thru ordering solution can reduce service times and increase average check. We’re now scaling those pilots into multi‑market rollouts. The VP of Drive‑Thru will ensure that our solutions achieve operational and guest experience KPIs and drive scaling to more locations—shaping strategy, guiding on‑the‑ground deployments, and ensuring every store hits its KPIs. In this role, you will: Lead and Grow the Drive‑Thru Deployment Team Manage and mentor a distributed team now comprising US and international team members Hire and develop additional program managers, deployment engineers, and field trainers as the business expands. Collaborate with clients’ operations leaders to align on pilot KPIs, success criteria, and crew‑training needs. Create and execute comprehensive go‑live plans, including on‑site training, end‑to‑end testing, and real‑time performance monitoring. Gather live feedback from managers and crew, then translate insights into concrete improvements for our AI Analyst and Product teams. Scale Rollouts & Continuous Improvement Build and run a repeatable restaurant deployment playbook that enables rapid expansion without performance degradation. Coordinate timelines and dependencies across client PMs, installers, and our Partnership team (hardware vendors, audio experts, digital‑menu‑board providers). Track post‑launch performance at the store level; deep‑dive into outliers, diagnose root causes, and drive remediation plans. Act as Subject‑Matter Expert & Executive Partner Serve as the company’s public face for drive‑thru best practices — advising client C‑suite and operations executives on optimizing process flow, labor models, menu structure, and lane design for AI ordering. Provide strategic input to internal Product, Partnerships, Account Management, and Sales teams on market trends and client pain points. Success Metrics On-schedule go-live deployments following SOW execution. Pilot KPI attainment rate across new client engagements. Expansion to hundreds of restaurant locations following pilot completion. We would love to hear from you if: You have 8+ years leading drive‑thru operations or technology deployments for a respected QSR brand or a top‑tier restaurant‑tech vendor with a drive-thru solution focus. You have proven credibility as a client‑facing consultant or executive liaison. You have a track record of managing multi‑site pilot programs and scaling them into enterprise‑wide rollouts. You have prior experience recruiting, leading, and coaching cross‑functional field or implementation teams. You have a deep understanding of drive‑thru operations workflows, audio systems, POS/KDS integrations, and service‑time analytics. You have excellent project‑management chops—able to juggle dozens of locations, vendors, and stakeholders simultaneously. You have strong analytical and communication skills; comfortable presenting to C‑suite and frontline crews alike. You have experience building teams. We'd be especially excited if you have: Familiarity with deployment of solutions that utilize conversational AI. Exposure to international QSR markets and multilingual operations. Certifications such as Six Sigma, PMP, or equivalent operations credentials. Travel Willing and able to travel frequently (25% ‑ 50 %) to client sites across North America and occasionally to international markets.
