We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. Backed with over $250M in funding from tier-one investors including Accel, Bessemer, FirstMark, Spark, and Version One Ventures, Ada is a pioneer in the management and application of AI in customer service. At Ada, we see growth as a reflection of each individual owner’s personal growth. That’s why our values are rooted in driving progress and continuous improvement. If you’re ambitious and eager to grow, Ada could be the place for you. Learn more at www.ada.cx.At Ada, we believe that as businesses scale, customer service should feel more personal—not less. Our AI-native platform helps companies automate high-quality conversations across every channel, turning support into a driver of growth. We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to join the Performance Team—the stewards of Ada’s reasoning engine. This is the system that determines how Ada problem solves, responds, and continuously improves. It is not a single feature or model—it’s the intelligence behind every interaction. In this role, you’ll design the frameworks and experiences that make Ada’s reasoning not only effective, but observable, improvable, and deeply human-centered. You’ll think beyond pixels—mapping how systems behave, how confidence is conveyed, how AI learns from real interactions, and how trust is built over time. Your work will shape both how our AI operates and how people experience that intelligence, across every modality and moment. What You'll Get To Do Design Ada’s thinking patterns – Work on the systems that govern decision-making and resolution across conversations, ensuring Ada delivers high-quality support that feels intuitive and complete. Architect feedback loops – Build mechanisms that allow Ada to learn from user signals, agent input, and conversation outcomes—improving over time across modalities like chat, voice, and email. Surface meaningful performance signals – Help users understand why Ada made a choice, how well it worked, and what’s improving—without overwhelming them with data or internals. Partner across teams – Collaborate with the designers, PMs, engineers, and ML scientists working on Ada’s different surfaces to ensure improvements to the reasoning engine are cohesive, consistent, and multi-channel (voice, chat, email) by default. Bring abstract systems to life – Translate fuzzy problems into structured experience flows, conceptual models, and polished interactions—always grounded in user understanding and system behavior. About You 5+ years of product design experience, including shipping complex or systems-level work in a product environment. A systems thinker with a strong interaction design foundation – You’re excited by the challenge of designing how something works, not just how it looks. Comfortable with ambiguity and complexity – You know how to break down abstract problems, explore multiple paths, and make thoughtful tradeoffs. Deeply user-centered – You advocate for clarity, trust, and empowerment in how users interact with intelligent systems—even when things go wrong. Fluent collaborator – You thrive in highly cross-functional settings, and you’re skilled at bringing together ML scientists, engineers, and modality teams to shape cohesive experiences. Bonus points if you have Experience designing for AI/ML-powered systems or reasoning-based experiences Exposure to conversational interfaces or multi-modal interaction design A background in interaction design, cognitive systems, or service design A thoughtful perspective on how people and AI can collaborate to solve complex problems We’re a team of curious, focused builders who care about the deep why and always finding ways to improve. If this role excites you—even if your experience doesn’t line up exactly with every requirement—we’d still love to hear from you. Benefits Competitive salary and generous stock option plan Unlimited vacation Wellness account Extended health coverage Dental/optical/travel insurance Life insurance Employee and family assistance plan Perks Flexible work schedule Remote-first, In-person friendly work environment with WFH budget Paid parental leave for Canadian and U.S. residents Development opportunities The expected salary range for this position is $135,000 to $160,000. We unite voice AI, generative AI, and conversational AI to deliver powerful AI solutions that reimagine how people interact with the products and services they rely on. Whether it’s voice-enabling vehicles, streamlining patient journeys, or enhancing customer service, our multilingual, omnichannel AI technology touches the lives of hundreds of millions of people around the world. Drive‑thru is the single largest transaction channel for most quick‑service restaurants (QSRs). We’ve proven that our AI‑powered drive‑thru ordering solution can reduce service times and increase average check. We’re now scaling those pilots into multi‑market rollouts. The VP of Drive‑Thru will ensure that our solutions achieve operational and guest experience KPIs and drive scaling to more locations—shaping strategy, guiding on‑the‑ground deployments, and ensuring every store hits its KPIs. In this role, you will: Lead and Grow the Drive‑Thru Deployment Team Manage and mentor a distributed team now comprising US and international team members Hire and develop additional program managers, deployment engineers, and field trainers as the business expands. Establish team OKRs and professional‑development paths. Deliver Successful Drive‑Thru Pilots Conduct on‑site assessments of proposed pilot restaurants—layout, audio quality, POS/KDS integration, signage, crew workflow—and flag risks that could hinder AI performance. Collaborate with clients’ operations leaders to align on pilot KPIs, success criteria, and crew‑training needs. Create and execute comprehensive go‑live plans, including on‑site training, end‑to‑end testing, and real‑time performance monitoring. Gather live feedback from managers and crew, then translate insights into concrete improvements for our AI Analyst and Product teams. Scale Rollouts & Continuous Improvement Build and run a repeatable restaurant deployment playbook that enables rapid expansion without performance degradation. Coordinate timelines and dependencies across client PMs, installers, and our Partnership team (hardware vendors, audio experts, digital‑menu‑board providers). Track post‑launch performance at the store level; deep‑dive into outliers, diagnose root causes, and drive remediation plans. Act as Subject‑Matter Expert & Executive Partner Serve as the company’s public face for drive‑thru best practices — advising client C‑suite and operations executives on optimizing process flow, labor models, menu structure, and lane design for AI ordering. Provide strategic input to internal Product, Partnerships, Account Management, and Sales teams on market trends and client pain points. Success Metrics On-schedule go-live deployments following SOW execution. Pilot KPI attainment rate across new client engagements. Expansion to hundreds of restaurant locations following pilot completion. We would love to hear from you if: You have 8+ years leading drive‑thru operations or technology deployments for a respected QSR brand or a top‑tier restaurant‑tech vendor with a drive-thru solution focus. You have proven credibility as a client‑facing consultant or executive liaison. You have a track record of managing multi‑site pilot programs and scaling them into enterprise‑wide rollouts. You have prior experience recruiting, leading, and coaching cross‑functional field or implementation teams. You have a deep understanding of drive‑thru operations workflows, audio systems, POS/KDS integrations, and service‑time analytics. You have excellent project‑management chops—able to juggle dozens of locations, vendors, and stakeholders simultaneously. You have strong analytical and communication skills; comfortable presenting to C‑suite and frontline crews alike. You have experience building teams. We'd be especially excited if you have: Familiarity with deployment of solutions that utilize conversational AI. Exposure to international QSR markets and multilingual operations. Certifications such as Six Sigma, PMP, or equivalent operations credentials. Travel Willing and able to travel frequently (25% ‑ 50 %) to client sites across North America and occasionally to international markets. Occasional travel to company headquarters in Santa Clara, CA for leadership summits and roadmap planning. This position is available for remote work across most of the United States. (** SoundHound AI DOES NOT offer employment in Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming). Regardless of workplace arrangement, employees within a 60-mile radius of a SoundHound AI office are expected to work from the office on three pre-scheduled, company-wide “core days” per month to encourage cross-team connection and in-person collaboration. The estimated salary for this position is $210,000–$280,000 depending on location tier, plus bonus and equity. In addition to salary and equity, you will receive comprehensive healthcare, paid time off, and other benefits. Our recruiting team will provide a specific salary range based on location and years of experience. ____________________ By working at SoundHound AI, you will join hundreds of employees across the globe who strive every day to create exceptional AI-powered experiences for customers, employees, and patients.
